Recycle Game
Overview

This website is my final project for the Design & Interactive Experience course during my study at Boston University. Working as a team, Angela and I built the site with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript from scratch.

Objective

Based on our research, one-quarter of Americans do not recycle anything at all. The website's primary purpose is to educate audiences on how to classify everyday garbage in four different life scenarios. As a team, we identified that developing an educational waste sorting game would help driving more attention to a cause that has been understated. See the full proposal here.

User testing

We invited two groups of five participants to test the website. Based on the feedback from the first group, we modified our site and relied upon the second group for further reviews. View the full user report here.

Professor Feedback
  • Execution: Pitch perfect.

  • Aesthetics: The ‘good job’ message does not look so hot on a phone. The tone is perfect for this game… colorful and playful. Maybe the modals could use a bit of refinement.

  • Usability: Good… works well on mobile (Firefox/Android). Where’s your About page?

  • Responsiveness: Good but on the home page your footer info collides with the other content.

  • Interactivity: This is fun and easy to use. Code quality: You have a null error on line 11.
